What are you drinking? Is it water, is it beer, is it vodka or even a special drink? At our age there is no solution to your drinking. Why do you drink the way you do? If you are consuming and must take large amounts of prescribed medication for diabetes, heart problems, blood thinners, pain in your joints or in your back, neck, stomach etc. why hurt your body by drinking? If you are consuming more than you can handle, perhaps it’s hurting more than your body can digest.
Take control of your life!
Start to reduce your intake of drinking. Instead of saying “I need a drink” get a bottle of water. Water is good for your kidneys, brain, and spirit.
Do not drown your sorrows in a habit that’s not good for you. What you once were is not good for your health now. My dear seniors it makes a world of a difference. You should strive to be a happy person in your later years. My message is, find your happiness by living and enjoying the time you have now, as well as taking care of your body! Make pesto sauce with basil… There’s so much life to enjoy and so much living your body can do, so don’t drink!
DO YOU WAIT FOR SOME ONE TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO OR DO YOU HAVE A MIND OF YOUR OWN AND ARE YOU SAYING TO THE WORLD I AM READY TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY OWN ACTIONS.PERHAPS A SMALL RIDE TO THE SUPERMARKET TO CHECK OUT PRICES, FRESHNESS OF THE FOOD, OR JUST GO TO SEE OLD NEIGHBORS AND MEET SOME NEW FRIENDS. THE SUPERMARKET IS A WAY TO MEET NEW PEOPLE. WHY STAY IN THE HOUSE AND NEVER KNOW HANDS ON WHAT IS HAPPENING ALL AROUND YOU. TELEVISION IS GREAT, HOWEVER MAKE THE MOVE TO GET OUTSIDE, BREATH THE AIR.WALK UP AND DOWN THE AISLES. LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVEN IN A MARKET. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO VENTURE OUT. LIFE IS FOR YOU TO LIVE, NOT SIT AND WONDER WHA T TO DO. MAKE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE CHALLENGE YOURSELF. DON’T LET THE DAY GO BY AND NOT ACCOMPLISH NOTHING. THAT’S NOT LIKE YOU. IN OUR YOUNGER DAYS NOTHING GOT INTO OUR WAY. WE DID MANY THINGS IN A DAY. DO IT AGAIN.LIVE, LAUGH AND LOVE. I’M COUNTING ON YOU.
I listened to my doctor and started to exercise by walking twice per week. To enhance the experience I asked my local friends to join in and we started the Rise & Shine walking club. To keep everyone motivated and on pace I got a drum and tap on it during the walk. We have a few laughs and get to stretch and try to keep a task pleasant.
Why do we think its a task? Its suppose to feel good and invigorating . Many days I have very few people joining me. My friends and neighbors use every excuse to not join in. It’s too cold, too hot, I’m too busy etc. Why do we find it so difficult to stay interested in doing something that improves our health? Its time to get on our feet and stop making excuses. It does not matter what your age is start now!
Time to reinvent ourselves. Every few years a new you must emerge. Whether it be a career change, a new relationship or a stylish hairdo a refresh always puts some pep in your step. I liked changing my home décor. I enjoyed decorating to follow the seasonal changes. Putting up a new curtain or planting flowers made me come alive again. It was akin to a rebirth. Remember you arrived here with a myriad of many ideas. Use your brain and experience to make yourself YOU. You still have it in you to become the new you.
LIVE LOVE LAUGH
Welcome! How was your weekend? This is a standard Monday morning greeting around the coffee bar, the diner or at work. Well, how was your weekend? Not just a nonchalant expression but did you give meaning to your weekend? Did you feel good about your day? Did you Pray? Did you call a relative? Did you write a letter? Weekends may be particularly lonely for Senior seniors. As a senior we may not be as spry or mobile as we once were. When our families enjoy weekend activities and we are not included instead of feeling sorry for ourselves let’s reach out and make someone else happy. Pick up the phone and extend yourself. Don’t wait for happiness to come knocking you must take the first step. Be the first to shake someone’s hand or engage in a conversation. Don’t wait for tomorrow. Do it now and make everyday count. Live, Laugh & Love!
